About This Story
On Christmas Eve, your child finds Santa waiting by the tree with an enormous old book — and their own face painted on the cover. Santa does not keep a list of naughty and nice, he explains. He keeps a book of who every child was this year. Then he reads your child theirs: six real moments from their year, the ones you choose — the bike without training wheels, the brave first day, the week they cared for the goldfish — each one painted, and each one followed by the small thing inside it that only Santa saw. The last line of Santa's book is yours, in your own words. And on Christmas morning, that very book is waiting under the tree -- with one new painting at the back.
