About This Story

Setting out the cookies on Christmas Eve, your child asks the question nobody asks: Santa gives everyone a present — so who gives one to HIM? Nobody knows. So your child decides: I will. Along a path of starlight to the North, they gather gifts that can't be bought — a lonely snowman's laugh, a song the winter birds sing along to, a mug of cocoa kept warm the whole way, and one gift that is entirely your child's own idea. They arrive just as Santa lands from the longest night of the year, so tired he can barely stand. And your child gives him the last gift: a rest. They tuck him in, and read Santa a bedtime story.

The moment it lands

Your child wonders who gives Santa a present — and decides to do it. They gather gifts money can't buy: a snowman's laugh, a song, a mug of cocoa kept warm the whole way, and their own idea. They reach the North Pole as Santa lands, exhausted, and give him the last gift: a rest. They tuck him in and read him a bedtime story. On Christmas morning, there is a tiny carved figure of your child under the tree.

Why it stays on the nightstand

A Christmas book that turns the whole holiday around: your child is the giver, and the gifts are the kind money can't buy — a laugh, a song, warmth, and their own idea. The last gift is the most tender: they tuck Santa in and read him a bedtime story. Gratitude, shown rather than taught.

What it quietly teaches
